This hanging plate rack / hanging shelves is an excellent quality piece of Ercol, and it's a less commonly seen model from the Old Colonial Range. It's well constructed and made from solid elm with the exception of the elm veneered drawer bottoms, and the nicely fashioned sides are fronted with well turned columns. The bottom of each side it fitted with an up.

The 3 fixed shelves are plate grooved, and the top shelf is crowned with a shaped return, while 2 nicely presented drawers are located below the bottom shelf, each of which is dovetailed and fitted with a well turned knob. There are 2 original brackets fitted to the back of the rack to enable it to be hung on a wall. Over the years Ercol have slightly altered their colour shades, therefore the finish of a more recent piece of Ercol furniture may differ slightly to an older piece. Also exposure to direct sunlight and general use / age can sometimes alter the colour of a piece of furniture.
